Slippery Pot Pie (Favorite of Grandma Linda)


  • 2 lbs. stewing meat (beef, chicken, ham)
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 ½ tsp. salt
  • 6 medium-sized potatoes (halved or quartered)
  • 1 tsp. minced onion
  • 1 tsp. minced parsley

Cook meat in salt water until tender.  Remove meat from broth; add potato, minced onion and parsley to broth.  Cook until potatoes are almost done.

For Noodles:


  • 1 egg
  • 3 TBLS. Milk or water


  • 2 cups flour

Make a stiff dough, roll out paper-thin and cut in inch squares.  Keep broth boiling while adding dough squares one by one to keep them from sticking together.  Cover and cook for 20 minutes, adding more water if needed.  Add meat and stir through potpie.
